Parents Want You for School Board

2023 is upon us and will unquestionably be one of the biggest election years the Tahoma School District has ever faced. Due to position resignations, 4 out of 5 director positions will be up for grabs. This means that our community will have an unfounded opportunity to completely change the course of our schools. While the Tahoma School District does a lot of things well, Tahoma Parents recognizes that our district is heading in the wrong direction in many areas.

It is our mission to prop up candidates who will acknowledge district shortfalls and commit to addressing them.

We need leaders who will:

  • Seek to put parental and student concerns at the forefront of policy decision-making.

  • Strive to promote an inclusive merit-based system that creates academic excellence and victory-minded youth.

  • Work to create safe, secure, and academic-focused environments where students can concentrate on their education first and foremost.

  • Acknowledge and work towards eliminating unhealthy trends such as the confusing overemphasis of school place sexualization.

  • Aim to promote district transparency and eliminate employee fear of reprisal.

At Tahoma Parents, we are ready to educate and assist anyone who wishes to take the leap and pursue tackling these crucial goals as a school board director. If you or anyone you know is thinking about stepping up for our children, please reach out to us at info@tahomaparents.org or use our contact form. Whether you are set on running or on the fence, let’s have a conversation.

We have the resources to help you start your campaign and hit the ground running with continued support.

You can make a positive long-lasting impact on the future of our youth!

If you wish to make a positive change, but do not wish to even consider running for a school board director position, still reach out! Good campaigns require much more than good candidates. We have tasks for people of all skills and talents.
