Introducing the Tahoma Parents Community – An Online Forum for Parents and More

Thank you to everyone who participated in our survey regarding the creation of an online social platform where parents and community members alike could openly communicate questions, concerns, and issues related to the Tahoma School District. Our survey results showed an overwhelming desire for a central forum where parents could communicate and receive help. Over 40% of those surveyed stated that they would prefer to stay off social media platforms such as Facebook and indicated that they would find benefit in a simple, dedicated platform to ask questions, where community-sourced answers could be provided.

With that, we have decided to launch the Tahoma Parents Community for public testing. This “forum” style platform is intuitive, easy to sign up for and provides an excellent medium for community members to discuss topics, news, questions, and more. The platform requires a login to use (which can be obtained via self-registration). Still, posted “topics” may be viewed without a login. This format is advantageous as search engines can index questions asked, allowing others to find answers via simple online searches, while simultaneously protecting the platform from spam.

As requested by our community-driven responses, Tahoma Parents will keep the forum open to all community members who wish to register. The forum will be moderated to ensure conversations are productive, on-topic, and lead towards a Tahoma Parent aligned positive impact for our school district.

Join the Tahoma Parents Community by downloading the Tahoma Parents app from the app store and clicking the new Community tab. If you already have the app, make sure you have updated to the most recent version. You may also access the forums by clicking Community from our main website.

When signing via the mobile app, click the Tahoma Parents Community logo after you have confirmed your email to activate the community.

Come sign up, say hi, provide your feedback, and help us build an open-air forum for our community.
